Brazil is a land of football, carnival, dance, Christ the Redeemer Statue, coffee, and Latino guys. With the country covered mostly by beaches & amazon forest, they're one of the most agriculturally forward countries with its products being used in the cosmetic & health industry for ages. Sugarcane is their most dominant produce which is a natural source of sugar, followed by soybeans which are enriched essential nutrients and protein, corn which is filled with fiber and good bacteria which is good for your gut, Brazilian Nut which is rich in selenium and because it's native to Brazil and cannot be grown anywhere by amazon forest, it is quite expensive but has several health benefits. It is believed that 2 Brazilian Nut a day enough for it to work it's magic while it's the oil is used extensively for beard & hair care as well as skincare.

While doing complete research on Brazil might be a tedious job but Brazil is famous for its hair care and hair hacks which we will cover in this article.

1. Mask Early & Often

While hydrating & conditioning hair is an early process which starts at a young age in Brazilian household. Pro Tip: Use warm Brazilian Nut oil and massage it in your head every week if possible and use leave-in conditioners alternatively to keep your hair hydrated & conditioned.

2. Choose vegan, natural and cruelty-free products

Just like what you eat, is what you achieve. The same goes for products as well. While chemical-based products are easier to find and cheaper but they're not good for your hair or general health in the long run. Instead use vegan, natural, and cruelty-free products that are good for both your body & environment.

3. Tap into the rich ingredients of Brazil

As we already mention Brazil is a land of agriculture produce, and they've their native ingredients from the beautiful Amazon forest which are helpful for hair care. Essentially there are 4:

  • Brazil Nut Oil: For hydration, softness, and shine.

  • Cupuaçu butter: For deep hydration and softness

  • Buriti Oil: For hydration, shine, and scalp health

  • Pequi Oil: For frizz reduction and curl retention

4. Capitalize on Keratin

It reinforces the hair structure, reestablishing its natural movement, shine, and softness. While it has been promoted and advertised heavily in women's products, the guy needs to focus on this essential technique as well. Keratin makes the hair thick and shinier for four weeks. Do this and girls will be certainly jealous of your hair and will be an interesting ice breaker.

5. Cut your hair according to the phase of the moon

Latin American people are highly superstitious. Now, their method hasn't been proven but nothing wrong in not trying. Each phase of the moon represents the following:

  • New moon: Strengthens the strands.

  • Crescent: Accelerates growth and increases shine.

  • Full: More volume.

  • Half Moon: For weak strands or hair that's falling out. It also helps tame wild hair.

6. Treat dark hair with chocolate

Particularly for women with dark hair, chocolate, which contains a slew of vitamins and minerals that nourish hair, is a popular ingredient in Brazil.

All you need is a cup of bottled water, 1 heaping tablespoon of cornstarch, 1 heaping tablespoon of your favorite conditioner or mask, 1 teaspoon of powdered cocoa, ½ teaspoon of vegetable glycerin, and 1 teaspoon of brazil nut oil (or another hair hydration oil). Mix the cornstarch, water, and cocoa, then warm it in medium heat until it thickens. Let it cool and mix in the other ingredients, apply generously to damp hair after washing, leave it on for 30 minutes, then rinse it off in cold water.

7. Candle split ends

Velaterapia, or candle-cutting, was invented in Brazil in the '60s and consists of using a lit candlestick to burn split ends off your hair to open the hair follicle and help it retain moisture. Guys with medium length to long hair, this technique could be useful.

While most of the methods are again gender neutral, identifying what works for you and what doesn't will help you in the long run.
